Tongue roughness can vary between cats but its just like fingerprints vary between humans. Doesn't matter what kind of cat it is, male or female, they'll end up with their own kind of tongue texture. But all cat tongues are rough to some degree, its how they brush their fur.

i have female and male cats and roughness seem to be the same in each of them.. its only used for licking their fur
