I know you know the answer to that one already. It has become so redundant that I almost didn't even answer your question.
It is all based on faith, you either have it or you don't. I personally dont. Oh well, guess I am going to Hell. We all believe in things on faith everyday
Here is a simple, but dumb example. I have online bill pay. I have faith that my check will be directly deposited into my account so that my bills get paid. I am putting faith into something that I have no control over. It could not work at anytime. Just stop abruptly, yet I have faith in the sysrem that everything will work as they say it does. Christians are the same way, they just believe based on feeling. They feel Gods presence and what not, so they believe.
gods look like the ones worshiping them because they created it. There was not even a written language through most of Biblical times. They had people that told stories of what happened and played telephone until it could be written. The people described events in their image, which represented them in a way.
Oh and your link is very funny..........

The evidence for God is all around you. Take a look at your loved ones and the beautiful aspects of creation that man has not corrupted. These are the handiwork of God. God has put all these things here so that man is without excuse. Man has invented the theory of evolution in an attempt to release themselves from moral responsiblity but this will not be adequate.
God revealed Himself to all people in the person of Jesus Christ - probably the most famous and well known person in history. If you truly want to know God the bible says He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. God is not contained in things made by human hands and if you were to look upon his glory at this time you would not live. No man can look upon his face and live. He is so powerful yet so loving. He seeks relationship with us on his terms.

Satanist_highschoolchick,
You saw heaven, I hope you don't mind me saying it.
You came back dizzy. I told you that you were dissonant to that place, I'll add that you have no claim there. You were gifted to see the cats, which to my knowledge no one else has ever seen.
Now with God, how much more will you be able to bear? Not that your spirit was in distress, but your body had problems with the experience.
You were not there by accident. If you believe that you were, you are fooling yourself. I did not see God either, and I was just saved when I had my experience. But the wonder of it, Satanist_highschoolchick, don't you wonder what it would be like to be in harmony with that place as I was?
Be at peace, for you know that there is that place. You wouldn't go into space without a spacesuit to protect you, you won't get harmonious with heaven if you don't do what is necessary.
I was not dissonant there, rather I was empowered and edified. You could do it too.

Christian God doesn't look like anyone, as to see him would mean instant death. When Moses was exposed to his glory, he glowed for years, perhaps from radiation. Only the most high priests could crawl under the great curtain of the most holy of the temple, to be in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Anyone else would die. Christ was a duplicate of Adam, who brought sin into the world, but his essence and memories of his pre-existence were downloaded into his brain only after he was baptized. After he ascended to heaven, he no longer processed the image of a human body, and existed in unapproachable light. When he appeared to Saul, who became the Apostle Paul, Saul was instantly blinded.

By the same token I could ask, "How can a person think if I can't see his/her thoughts?" Or, "How can a person feel if I can't see his/her emotions?"
We don't see thoughts visually, but we do see people's thoughts by what they say. We don't see emotions visually, but we do see people's feelings by how they behave.
It is similar with God. He exists and we see Him in his creation: you, me, those we love, this world, this universe - everything seen and unseen. God exists and loves the people of the world so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for the forgiveness of all our sins. You can choose to believe this or choose to ignore this - He gave us this freedom with the consequence of where we spend eternity.
I don't know what God looks like. It is written that Adam was created in the image of God. Seen a picture of Adam? Was it the physical likeness or the (temporary, in Adam's case) perfection that is reflected in this scripture? I don't know, but it does let me know that there is a likeness between each of us and God.
Keep asking questions. May God bless you.

In our human understanding it would be the same way that wind exists, but you cannot see it.
You can however with God and the wind, feel it and see the effects that it has.
I heard something tonight that really sums up what we try to do in order to understand God.
God made us in his image and we humans have been returning the favor ever since.
It means that we take God and mold him into something we can understand in our mind or not understand according to what we want to believe. We turn around and make God into what we want or do not want him to be.

If God appeared to man, if the mere "goodness" of God is manifest to any sinner, he would instantly die. His "goodness" would spill wrath upon evil man.
When God "appeared" to certain men in the Old Testament, He manifested Himself in another form, such as a burning bush, or the angel of the Lord.

I clicked on the link.
What don't you understand? (just kidding).
Obviously...if we can't agree on what Christianity is all about, how are we going to agree on God?
I dunno....I just go with the flow...and maintain faith that some "higher power", does exist. I describe my Higher Power as LOVE and that's all I know for sure.
Great question!

God is out there, we can't see Him because He is a spirit. The other gods are man made, so they look likesomething they can reconize. There is only one God, the God of Israel, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Because the Bible states that God created us in his own image..... so who ever is reading it assumes they look like God. It is so simple yet everyone tries to make it so complicated.
