Your cards must add up to 21. 2-10 are there value. J-K count as 10 and A can be either 11 or 1. You only get two cards to start out with, and if you have a 2 and a 4 then you would ask the dealer to "hit you" which gives you another card, if it is a face card then you would then have 16. Or if it is an ace it can be 17 or 7. You want to make sure that you get a higher or closer number to 21 than the dealer, if you do, then you win!

how do you win? nobody can answer that ... however the answer to the question "What is the best statistical way to play blackjack?" can be answered and has been for a long time... Just go out and buy a book on the subject.. they are all the same exact rule set that can be memorized with some effort. No it's not card counting... it is the proven mathematical way to play blackjack ..ie what you should do in every situation to give yourself the best chances at winning.

Card count, and get 21. Don't let the dealer hit higher than you. Um, take a little time to make your decisions. Always assume the dealer has a 10 you can't see. DON'T pay for insurance. Once the dealer wins three in a row, stop for a while and come back in later. Always split aces. That is how you can better your chances to win.

Best way to win is with fewest decks of cards and a full table. sitting in the right seat also helps ...usually the second to last player. u can see most of the cards before your turn and then determine whats the choice for you...there are plenty of books on strategies. the best one is trying to figure out what the dealers hole card is(the one u don't see). would u split aces, when there are a bunch of tens already out and the dealer is showing a nine? you are likely to get low cards and the dealer if he doesn't have 19 showing will likely hit to a winning score.... knowing high and low will help u win more hands and bet accordingly...get a few books. take care and good luck

If you are playing in a casino the only way to beat blackjack is by card counting. Be very careful while doing this as if they catch you they will throw you out. It isn't illegal, but casinos do have the right to refuse you service.
Online you really can't beat Blackjack outright.
