OK, here goes.
We are told in the bible to raise our children with the word of god. So, if you are christian, and you believed, but didn't teach your children,???? Do you see the problem there? We want our children to grow up knowing the truth.
It is not a scheme.
Is school a scheme? Some might think so. Many people feel they don't need an education to survive in todays world. But if you don't send your child to school you wouldn't be arming them with knowledge to make it in the world and survive, right?
That is how I feel. It is my job to arm my children with the armor of god. Lets pray it last through adulthood.
Live for today-come on are you serious? Do you really think that babies will go to hell? No religion believes that, well at least not christians. I do know that Catholics believe something like if a baby isn't baptised at birth then they go to pergatory, but that isn't correct either. It doesn't say that in the bible. It says all children are the innocent and will go to heaven.

Good job... (you've just accomplished Pi**ing off a LOT of people, but I agree with you)
It has been my experience that some Christians teach their kids this because they find it absolutely necessary for their survival... because if they were to die without accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior they will surely go straigh to Hell. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200 or virgins, or whatever.

It's no less effective than no parenting at all, leading children into self-delusional states of atheistic intellectual superiority. Those children don't have to worry about such wordly affairs as morality and conscience. After all, you are smarter than everyone. May as well do what you please.
At least when us poor, brainwashed christians lay in a sick bed and gasp our bloody last, we'll have a final feeble hope to cling to. You, on the other hand, will despair that your intellectual merit didn't stave off death not for one second.
Damn your smart.

Telling the young ones what to believe is extremely effective. It tends to have a long lasting affect. It is not always permanent and this is why we have a "higher power". He/She ensures that "freedom of will" endures all things.
Christians are not the only ones who insist on deciding for another, what their beliefs will be. However, children grow up to be adults and time changes all things.

What difference does it make to...do you cry for those lost children that could be following you or your ilk...BTW I am no way religous...but if see a goofy question...I have to get on it....everybody worships something...money, pop culture...maybe a religion such as hinduism, christianity or what ever is the lesser of two problems....money and greed have done more to wreck the world than any religion....many times religion was just used as an excuse....

Poor kids never have a chance. You can tell a little kid anything, you can tell them that a fairy flies in their window and gives them money for their teeth that have fallen out, and they'll believe it. Now imagine how far that belief can be taken when the adults around the child actually believe it too.

Yes, this amounts to child abuse. I suffered it and it took me many years to recover but it is always in the back of your mind like a bad smell.

Brainwashing is part of being human. We simply don't have to time or resources to question everything we are told, and so we accet most of it hook, line, and sinker. That hold in politics and sports too.

Probabally because you make them believe that if they don't believe, the worst thing they can think of will happen to them! You do this when they are too young to think for themselves and then keep at it for years to come. When they are old enough to think for themselves they are so scared that they don't
