I don't think I know for sure. It would depend on the circumstance. Who did what to whom and how and why is this gun being fired?
If it is my own "loved one" who shot first and the second bullet was going for him/her....would I take the bullet? Or would I be so shocked that one of my own, had started the fight, that I'd freeze in place and do nothing?
I can't tell you for sure, because I have not experienced it.

I pray that I would have the strength to jump in front of a bullet for anyone.
I enlisted in the Army 12 years ago, in a job that served as little more than being someone else's shield.
Now out of the Army, I hope that I would protect anyone in grave danger. I have hope of going to heaven for my belief in Jesus Christ, so my eternity is secure. There are others without this hope (for they have no belief in Christ), so it is of greater importance for them to have the opportunity to choose where they place their faith before it is too late.

My children, because I would die for them. Any parent would. In fact, I'd take a bullet for any child, and a lot of adults that I know.

i really do not think that i am that quick.
if you want to know who i would step in front of a loaded gun for and possibly take a bullet for, i would say any child. and most of my family.

My wife, my child, or my mother.
and why? One is my love for all time. I'll never find another. One is my future upon whom i've placed all my hopes. The last is the one who brought me forth and gave me my brothers and sisters, so I must protect her.
NOw, if someone wanted to shoot all three of them, how could I decide?
(a demon in my gut says...save the wife...)

My best friend...we were close and then lost a mutual friend to suicide and since then we have been inseperable. By spending so much time with him, has taught me more about life and myself through his own actions than anyone ever could have with words.

anyone in my family - obvious reasons
I would lay down my life for nearly anyone, any religion.
Why - because I know that my spirit will continue on. I would know my wife and 2 daughters would be sad, but they would continue on.
I would do it to let the persons life that was saved be given another chance to find Jesus as Lord

No need.
The person who owns the gun would be dead first before he squeezed the trigger and the bullet leaves the barrel.
