I would try to find another doctor in maybe another city. I have had a sore throat with my cold lately and I used Sensodyne Oasis Mouthwash and it helped me. I know it is for dry mouths but it helps coat the throat...

I'm no expert by any means, and you can certainly dismiss what I'm about to ask. Have you considered something as simple as you sleep with your mouth open? Whenever you have a stuffed up nose, often you will sleep with your mouth open to breath and it dries up your throat. Mouth breathers often have chronic sore throats for this reason. It sounds like your doctors have eliminated the major, serious explainations for your sore throat- and that only leaves me to suggest the simple. There isn't any way for you to know for certain, though, unless you have a sleep partner willing to lose some sleep to make this discovery. It wouldn't necessarily mean you snore- just that you sleep with your mouth open. If this turns out to be the case, you would need to find a way of keeping your mouth closed while you sleep, and adding some moisture to the air in your bedroom, like with a cool steam vaporizer or a humidifier. If you have gas heating, that will dry your home air up really badly, I discovered this when we moved to a house that used it and I also developed nose and throat problems. I finally ended up with a sinus infection, and at the doctors office- and it was the doctor who made mention of this fact to me. I hadn't thought of it before, and adding the moisture to the air made a big improvement for me. As I said, you can take this for whatever- but sometimes the simple explainations are the best, and it wouldn't be that hard to find out if this is your trouble. Adding some moisture to the air would be a relatively cheap and easy thing to try.

Give olive leaf extract a try.You can usually get them at Wal Mart in the vitamin isle, or at GNC. They're like an herbal antibiotic. I've used them many times with no side affects at all,for a variety of things, including sore throat and sinus infections. When I get something that's tough to get rid of I usually take 4 or 5 at a time at least 3 times a day.You gotta realize that these aren't chemicals and you may not see immediate results. So I'd keep using them at least for a week or so.Then for a week after things clear up. As with anything new,try only one or to at first to make sure your not allergic.I also use grape seed extract along with this some times. They do pretty much the same thing.

Probably the flu my 6 year old had it over x mas.. First they thought she had a UTI and tested her and put her on Bactrum then turned out she started vomiting for 4 days!! Welll the UTI was not the issue, she had the flu and it lasted about 2 weeks.. She had a fever of 104.6 at the highest and we alternated with tylenol and motrin.. If the fever is really high get some Feverall it is a gel suppository and although unpleasant to give, it brings the fever down right away. Have her drink white grape juice or gatoraide or pedialyte and lots of popscicles rest and coloring books and maybe new crayons. If the fever gets to 105 take her to ER, when my daughter was 14 months she had scarlett fever, a red sandpaper rash all over her body that itched like crazy her ferver spiked to 106 and triage took her rightaway and gave her antibiotics and steroids... Be careful because high fever can cause permanent heart damage and or brain damage, just watch her closely and you are her mother so trust your intuition, If something is not right then you get someone to listen to you and make them see it your way.

Either you're allergic or you need to see what could be the cause. Sleeping habit, favorite food, dust allergy, etc. Did your doc say anything or they think everything is normal?
If you've been taking menthol-based sweets to relieve your sore throat, stop them immediately.
Drink only warm water and avoid caffeine. Did you try also gargling with water?
How about trying traditional chinese medicine (TCM)? There is a certain drink you can buy from chinese medical hall called "luo han guo" that is effective for sore throat, cough and fever. Think about it, if western doctor has given up, why not try TCM?

Like previous poster said, it could be allergies, have you been tested? I would go this route.
Also do you have a fan or room purifier going were you sleep?
