Ha ha, nope. And anyway, I'm Air Force, but my brother's in the Navy, with the Marine Corps.

Seriously, I won't join any particular services just because some pumpkin say its cool (sure, the uniforms are spiffy though I admit). I join to serve the country and put my talents to good use.

Of course its a hell lot easier if you like that particular branch of service in the first place.

But if you are looking to a career of sinking ships as Lana above mentioned, well, you are out of luck. We ain't in the Cold War with the Russians (the USSR is gone, so's the term Soviet) anymore.

If you want combat action, join the Marine Corps. Don't even think about the special forces now, its tough to get in and tougher to stay in still. Once you are in a combat vocation (frontline duties), you won't be thinking about cool anymore, you will be thinking about surviving and getting home in one piece.

Navy recruits were many at the height of the popularity of the Village People believing that they will become sex symbols.

Tangentially related, Did you know that the Navy was going to use that song in a recruitment ad, until they found out that the song was filled with gay undertones that were intended for the gay audience? Needless to say that it did not get used once they found that out
