did either of your parents have white hair at that age? its usually something you inherit. you cant slow it down or prevent it , however you can cover it up with hair color.

As you age your hair follicles stop producing melanin, (the pigment produced in your skin) this is what gives your hair its color. Brunettes produce more melanin than blonds, the more melanin the darker the hair or skin. Grey hair occurs when your follicles stop producing this pigment.. white hair actually occurs when tiny air bubbles are trapped in the keratin (makes up your finger nails, hair, and a thin coating on your skin.) this is most common in geriatric people and a common side effect of albinism. there is no known cure for grey or white hair other than over the counter or professional coloring. however you it would be a good idea to consult a doctor to make sure this might not be a nutritional or vitamin deficiency or unbalance. This has been known to make people lose hair although I'm not sure if this would have an effect on color.

Mine started at 13. I simply ignored it until I hit 40 when I started covering the grey with my natural color. I'm 48 now. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way to stop it from happening at all.

Don't worry about it much. It's most likely in your genetics, like me.

However, you MIGHT want to ask a doctor to do a complete bloodwork on you just to make sure something else isn't causing this. I've heard that there are some other conditions that can cause premature greying but don't know if they're serious or not. Your doctor should be able to clarify this for you.

I was born with 2 gray hairs. The rest of my hair is nearly black. It's completely normal; in fact, if people looked through their hair really closely, my guess is that many of them would find white or gray hairs.

Dye probably won't cover it up, sorry. Everyone I have ever known with naturally white hairs haven't been able to get them to dye. I can't even get my 2 grays to dye, but I look at them as character!

Chill. Most people think it looks awesome when other have a chunk of white in their otherwise "normal" hair. I know I do.

If you're black or dark haired, it is natural to have white hairs.

We brunettes tend to turn white haired quicker than blondes/reds.

The old supersition is that if you pluck the white hair, 3 more will grow in it's place.

I am black haired, I'm just 32, and have quite a few. My cousin was totally white haired at 18.

It's not what most would consider "normal", but as a hair stylist, I get this question alot from clients. It's not abnormal to have grey hair at your age. It's genetic, and just a prequel to what's to come. Look at your parnets, (particular the men in your family). Do most of them have alot of grey? Really, there is nothing to freak out about. A lot of women find it appealing. I know I do!!!!

Well my sister has had a white hair, or either it was just really blond. I just noticed it one day and was like "...heyy you have a white hair.." But whatever, I wouldn't worry about one white hair. You're going to have greater troubles in life that you'll have to deal with... hair should be the least of your worries.

It's genetic, I'm afraid. You won't be able to prevent new white hairs growing in. My mum started dying her hair when she was 15 to hide the grey hairs.
