first, you have to wash your hand. pick the durian with your right hand and eat it little by little. if possible, do not speak while eating durians. wash your hand after you finish eating.

I think durian could not serve in a proper dinner for may it cause unneccessary smell in a formal dining hall.

serve it with aiskrim and cakes...that ought to absorb the smell...plus its delicious.
Also, the food presentation helps to divert people attention from the smell.
