When I use bananas for pudding or any other dessert for that matter, I mix them with a little pineapple juice. Just enough to get them coated. It keeps them fresh for about 4 days. Good luck.

If there is a way, I haven't found it and I've been married and cooking for some years.

Best way is to make the pudding and be sure the bananas are on the bottom or in the middle - completely encased in pudding. Even then, they don't stay fresh for long.

If you're making a banana cream pie, you could make the crust the day ahead, refrigerate, then you just have to get the pudding together and slice the bananas the day of dinner.

I think you will find most of we shoppers buy a few green and a couple yellow bananas if we want to have them over a few days.

I have heard that some people sprinkle lemon juice on the bananas to keep them from browning. You might try going to Betty Crocker.

You cannot preserve bananas for more than a few days. The worst place to store them is in the fridge. IF you've incorporated them in a pudding, they'll keep in the fridge for perhaps three days. What you do is only make enough for a day. That way there's no waste.

What I suggest is that you keep it in water IN an airtight container. Preferably boiled water, cos' that way, no bacteria or oxidizing agents will ever get to your banana slices. Yeah. Thank You God for giving us food!

I don't think the bananas will brown in the pudding... you and your family will probably have it eaten before it has a chance to anyway (who doesn't love banana pudding!).
Otherwise, sprinkle them with lemon or orange juice - freezing is good, too.

Never no matter how much you try the banana will never stay white forever. Even thirty minutes after it has been cut. Trust me i tried it with banana shake.

When we do chocolate fondue with fruit, we squeeze lemon juice over the bananas so they won't get brown. It seems to work very well. Also works for apples.

You could add a tad bit of lemon juice to keep the color.

I actually freeze bananas all the time and keep them for a few months to make smoothies out of them.

mm, good idea, i think i'll go make myself one now.
