The good part: You tend to meet new people and eventually became friends or lover. I it best to meet someone after you have chat with the person for a long time and you think that it's time to meet face to face to see who that person actually was.

The bad part: You will never know if the person is having a good or an ill-intention when meeting up. You will never know what will happen to you after the meet. Usually, parents will advice kids not to meet strangers online unless your parents or friends are tagging along. It's safer.

As for me, I have meet up with people online for about 3 times and nothing bad happen to me. Some is still in contact with me till today. The choice is yours.

Meeting someone online is good for people who's been hurt. Because it allows you to get close to the person at the speed you want unlike in face to face meetings one tends to get to know each other at a bit faster pace. The only bad thing meeting someone online is not being able to have the physical end of it. although that in itself could be a good thing at times like one of the women i met online we were so hot for each other we would of had a few kids if we had not met online. I alot of people especially older generations dont see the beauty of online dating well long distance relationships to be more exact. Probably worse thing about meeting someone online is people on the computer tend to be completely different then in face to face. I've had many women tell me i'm different online then face to face. mostly due to the fact face 2 face i'm shy online i'm not have no reason to be.

Get to know them first and make sure you can trust them. I was suppose to meet someone met through "answers" but he is overe 3000 miles away so we are currently just emailing. If you really want to play it safe meet in a public place for the first time. I know in my heart I can trust the man I am talking to but there are some people out there that you can't so be careful...

You have to be very careful. I've met 3 guys IRL from the Internet. One was local, totally normal but who had photo shopped his pics (he had terrible acne and he made it disappear in the pics) and who had obvious self esteem problems. He was nice though.
I met another guy (whom I refer to as 'nekkid guy') who lived in Indiana, who came down here to Dallas on his way to Austin and we met while he was coming through. Let me just say I wish I could have kept him around for a while ;-)
The third was a nightmare - he lived in Connecticut and found out where I lived and showed up on my doorstep - in TEXAS - at 11:30 pm one night. He hung around town for a week and a half, sending me flowers, balloons etc. more than once a day at work each day, calling me incessantly, crying, etc. I ended up having to get a restraining order because he would follow me home and camp out at my door.
Lots of good stories out there, also lots of bad ones to keep in mind.
Good luck and keep as anonymous as possible.

it's fine and normal. i did it for a couple times ;) just choose a safe social place and tell to your close friend where you're going to meet and whom. also, try to talk on the phone with him/her before.

Good Luck and have fun!
