Yes it is true, Catholics do not deny God the possibility of creating children He wishes to create, by placing artificial physical or chemical barriers in His way. Also, Catholics do not use so-called "contraceptives" which don't really prevent conception, but kill the developing embryo by preventing its implantation in the uterus, thereby causing an early abortion.
Catholics, during the wedding ceremony, solemnly vow to accept children lovingly from God. We take those vows seriously. Catholic couples however are able to regulate the size of their families and space the birth of their children by using Natural Family Planning, which allows regulation and spacing without slamming the door in God's face. NFP is not the "rhythym method", which non-Catholics so often refer to, but which most Catholics of child-bearing age have never heard of, since it hasn't been used for over 40 years.

Yes, it is true. It is because the "church" wants to populate the would with Catholics. That info is found in the book of "The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine" page 62. The more Catholics the better is how they see it. But it is up to the individual; if you want to take birth control pills or some other method your doctor and you decide on; then by all means go for it! It's better to have a child when you are ready to have one, then to have one and just not be ready for one. Again, that would have to be a decision made by you. I have 5 children and I was on birth control pills...I would have hated to see how many I would have had without birth control pills! YIKES! I am very fertile!

It's true, although there are a lot of younger Catholics who don't seem to know it. My Catholic spouse was once told by a priest that any married couple who used birth control might as well be unmarried and "living in sin". The Church tends to promote something called the "rhythm method" or "natural family planning", which is often jokingly referred to as "Vatican Roulette".
Q: What do you call people who use the rhythm method?
A: Parents.

The Catholic Church opposes all forms of artificial birth control. The Catholic Church does not oppose - even encourages - natural family planning. This is what keeps Catholics from having "litters of babies", not that there is anything wrong with having litters of babies.

Yes, the Roman Catholic Church is adamently opposed to any form of birth control. They believe child-bearing and giving birth is part of G-d's natural will, and the Church doesn't wish to oppose what they believe to be the will of G-d by using contraceptives. However, I'm not sure how many Roman Catholics actually do follow the Church's teachings on this issue. To keep from having a large family, you either disobey the Church's opposition to contraceptives, or abstain from sexual intercourse except when you wish to have a child.

Just count your days....meaning, start counting from the day your period starts to the time ovulation ends, then you know when you're in the clear. It's worked for us since my son was born 16 months ago. I'm not Catholic so I don't know what they believe about birth control pills. I don't like taking bc pills because they give me headaches.

It's call self-control. You use the rhythm method where you learn about your menstrations and only have sex on days that your aren't ovulating. It's can be difficult for women who's periods are not monthly. But when you use self-control and learn about your body you can have 1,2,or children with no problems. You can plan your family this way. This is natural family planning. Birth control stops the fertilization from happening which is what God created our bodies to do. We are to have sex to have children and to show love to our spouses. Not for self gratification.

Yes, it is true. Catholics who want to plan the spacing of their children use natural family planning. For information on the various methods of natural family planning, check here: http://womenshealth.about.com/od/nfp/l/bldefnfp.htm The success rate for NFP is comparable to artificial birth control, without all of health related side effects.
BTW, the pill is an abortifacient. No one should use it.

It's against their faith to do so. How do they keep from having a "litter"? Rhythm method. Does it work? Yeah, but it's not effective.

rhythm method is the only acceptable form. Haven't you ever heard of irish-catholic families with tons of kids? They DO have litters, (or they cheat and use contraception)
