The old fashioned remedy of Calamine Lotion over every itchy spot he's got.
Sounds like he needs something stronger than Benadryl, ask the doctor for Atarax in a child's dose. It will make him sleep but that's better than the suffering he must be going through.
But start with GENEROUS amounts of Calamine. It is harmless as well.
God Bless, thanks for reading, and I am sure sorry to hear of your dilemma. I will pray for the little tyke.

Try Sarna cream. You don't need a prescription for it. My husband is very allergic to detergents, fabric softener and bleach. I use only detergents that do not contain perfume or softeners. Tide Free or All Clear in the white bottle are very good. They are marked for sensitive skin and are dermatologist recommended. Never use any kind of fabric softener or sheet. They cause severe allegies. Bleach is also a problem. Hope this helps.

Make sure you take him to a dermatologist and not his regular pediatrician. I had a bad rash and went to my regular MD he prescribed cream (didn't work) and after 6 weeks of misery, went to a skin doctor and he gave me ointment and antibiotic pills and it was gone instantly after one dose.

Id give him Benadryl, its better than any allergy med out there. Also Calydryl to rub on the effected areas.

Did they just give him a prescription of Hydro cortisone cream? Sometimes you need steroids to make the inflammation go down.

Try giving him an Aveeno bath. It is a very fine oatmeal powder you can buy at any store and it really soothes itchy skin.

it could take days and it might take washing his things several times to get rid of the residue from the offending soap.
