Because you have made it a big deal and more difficult by thinking it over and over . Just be yourself and work on your body language . Keep it simple . Simple is always the best situation in relationship .

that depend on the type of guy you are? are you shy? if so, its because you are scared, scared of rejection and letting someone into your world. you are afraid that no one will like who you are.
if you arent shy and have no problem with girls, its cos you enjoy your freedom. you are scared that getting serious and involved with someone, it will change who you are. you will lose your freedom and sense of self.
the key to all of this. take the plunge, we all have to face our demons sooner or later
