no need to go to the doctor for every stupid thing u can possibly doooooo!! I have had head lice before, when i went to India, and I use this shampoo called "RID"....rid is sooooooo effectiveeeee! DO THIS ALL IN DRY HAIR....Just put a towel on her back ..pull her hair out of the towel. Then, if she has long hair, apply the whole bottle in the areas where she feels the most itchy, especially under the neck and behind the ears.If she has shorter hair, apply half of the bottle. Then, comb her hair out with the lice comb in the bottle and finally, with the regular comb. THEN, wet her hair, finally, and put her regular shampoo on...wash off nicelyyyyy....then...TADA....all done.

Several things you need to know:
First, the best way to get rid of them is to put either a vegetable oil or mayo on her hair (completely drench it) and cover her entire head/hair with plastic wrap for at least two hours. Then comb all the eggs/lice out. This will take hours if you want to get them all.

The next thing is that her home will need to be taken care. This includes treating anyone else in the household with lice or nits. Then all of her bedding will need washed. You can put her pillow and stuffed toys in the dryer for about a half hour to kill them, or you can wrap them in plastic bags for a week.

Don't repeatedly use products like Nix because lice are often immune to their effects. I worked as a school nurse and found the best treatment was suffocating them with an oil. Good luck!

i have found a way to keep them off, I use this on my kids. Last school year we spent half the year fighting with lice we found nothing that could get rid of it. Someone told me to go get some Sauve coconut shampoo and conditioner. there is something in the coconut that the lice dont like. We have not had any more lice since we started using it. I would recomend besides making sure all her stuff is washed, using this shampoo and conditioner. Besides being cheap it has worked so far.

I live in a 3rd world country and it is very common here, go to the drugstore, there is a shampoo the druggist can give you and then a comb, but then you have to look through the childs hair several times a day and pick out any still remaining and then shampoo again to kill the eggs, and change the bed clothes and if she wears a hat must be checked also!

The first thing I would try is pennyroyal oil, then most likely I'd get the OTC store remedy. Does shampooing several times a day work with lots of extra conditioner?

NO WONDER YOU ARE SCRATCHING YOUR HEAD, YOU COULD GET THEM IN YOUR ARM PITS TOO

DRUG STORES HAVE ONE SHOT DEALS NOW - YOU SOAK THE HEAD WITH IT - FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS
IF LICE ARE IN THE SCHOOL - ALL THE CHILDREN GET THEM - AFTER THEY ARE GONE - THE 'NITS' TOO (THE EGGS) YOU SHOULD BRUSH HER HAIR EVERY NIGHT AND COMB IT WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB TO TAKE ANY 'NIT'S THAT MAY SNEAK BACK

ALL THE SHEETS AND PILLOW CASES THAT SHE SLEEPS ON SHOULD BE WASHED EVERY DAY - THE LITTLE VARMITS ARE ON THEM.

yOU MIGHT JUST TELL THE CHILD THAT IT IS NOT HER FAULT THAT SHE HAS THESE.
TELL HER OTHER KIDS PROBABLY HAVE THEM TOO.

NO 'SLEEP OVER'S FOR A WHILE

cut the hair as short as you can, get a headlice treatment kit and the special comb and encourage her to use it at home when she cant be with you, she also needs all her bedding washed every day until they get rid of the bugs, maybe she can stay with you a couple of weeks over a holiday and you can rid her of them, but if her house and bed are full of them its not likely they will stay away, you might call the child protective people and see if you can get care of her if its important to you.

You need a special preparation from the Chemists and it would be best if you asked them.
