I ran the windows update because it says there are new updates for Windows.
And halfway while it was updating Microsoft Office stuff another window popped out and told me to find a folder containing PRO11.MSI.
I cant find the file so I put the Microsoft Office CD in.Then I found the file and put in the address of the file, but it says it's invalid.
Any ideas what i can do?

Oh Oh! Is your copy legitimate? If it is, you should have no problem updating unless you are working with Win98, which MS no longer supports.

When I update, I am told when to insert the CD, but have not been asked for a file. Check the source link below to determine if your CD is legitimate.

Good luck.

It sounds like one or more component files have become corrupt.

We could have you try all sorts of stuff, but since you have the installation CD, I suspect the easiest thing to do is uninstall MS Office and then re-install it, then go to the upgrade site and see if you still have the problem. If you do, then the CD is corrupt and you'll probably have to contact Microsoft Customer Service to get a replacement CD.

Uninstalling the Program(s) will not uninstall any documents you may have, but it will completlely erase the component files that make up MS Office, so make sure you have ALL the CD's that you will need (i,e, all the cds that came with Office in the first place) AND the activation key code (usually found on the envelope of the first CD) If you don't have that, you'll need to contact Microsoft for a replacement key code before you do anything.

This sounds worse than it is, but making sure you've got all your ducks in a row will make the uninstall/re-install go much easier.

You must provide the same MS Office CD from which you've installed your MS Office in your machine while updating MS Office from Microsoft's site.
