Can't beat IHOP for variety and taste and good service. We go there every Sunday after Church.

The Way Station on San Fernando in Saugus, CA.

Old style restaurant because it's an old restaurant. The waitress calls you "hun" or "darlin'."

Order the chicken fried steak and eggs (over medium), slathered with sausage gravy and bacon and hash browns on the side. I prefer a coke to wash it down. Sometimes I just open up my chest and pack that gravy around my heart....

They close about 2pm, the place is hopping all morning long. And odd things, like weird bumper stickers on the counter or some old state car plates on the wall -- they look like they've been there forever.

I had huevos rancheros covered with green chile in a truck stop in the middle of New Mexico one time that was a spiritual experience .... but that's another story.

Don's Diner in Woodland, California they have anything you could want excluding alcoholic beverages. I have never gone there and not had a great breakfast. Everything is cooked to perfection. We love it there.

IHOP has an awesome breakfast burrito that you can get anywhere, even if you're not in the southwest. If you are here, you should go to La Tolteca in Phoenix - their burritos are the bomb!
