It happened in my family the difference between my uncle's first daughter and second daughter is only 10 months because my aunt became pregnant soon after her delivery. This happened 30 years ago and both girls are fine and they themselves are married and having kids.

You're supposed to wait 6 weeks because the uterus does not shrink back down until about 6 weeks after birth. And you should always wait until the "red" bleeding has stopped. But other than that there is no reason why not to have sex. And from what I've been told by my own OB is that you can get pregnant again after 21 days after child birth.

You can become pregnant as soon as you begin to ovulate again. Which is about 2 weeks after the birth, but not always as every woman is different. You are supposed to wait 6 weeks so that your vagina can recover from the birth and so that any stitches have healed and you don't run the risk of infection. If you had no sutures and it was not painful then there was nothing wrong with you having sex earlier, except you should have thought about contraception!!

Whether you give birth vaginally or by C-section, your body will need time to heal. Many doctors recommend waiting six weeks before resuming intercourse. This allows time for the cervix to close, postpartum bleeding to stop, and any tears or repaired lacerations to heal.

Unless you're hoping to become pregnant right away, sex after pregnancy requires a reliable method of birth control — even if you're breast-feeding. Barrier methods such as condoms and spermicides can be useful. If you prefer hormonal birth control, it's important to select a method that doesn't interfere with breast-feeding.

You can get pregnant the day you give birth but you should wait till your body heals before getting pregnant again. You are suppose to wait six weeks because for the first 6 weeks after birth you are most fertile and that's how long it takes most peoples body to heal.

Six weeks so your vagina can heal correctly. You can get pregnant anytime after delivery, in fact you are more fertile after just having a baby
