First, a riddle: We know that the valedictorian is the person in a graduating class with the highest average grades. What do you call the person with the lowest grades graduating medical school? (I'll tell at the very end.)

After you graduate from medical school, you need to do your internship before you are granted a license. The better your grades, recommendations from professors, your specialization, and to a lesser degree, the school you went to, determines which hospital will offer you an internship.

But remind yourself why you want to be a doctor. Is it because you want to do your internship at the Mayo Clinic or Yale Medical Center, or because you want to help people. It is okay and even noble to intern at that tiny hospital out in the middle of nowhere with masses of poor people who could not afford medical treatment. It is also okay and noble to intern at an veteran's hospital. That internship is your first job. So don't worry about your school or the place of your internship. Concern yourself with the training and the people you are helping.

Answer to riddle in reverse: "rotcod a"

In the long run it really does not matter which med school you graduated from. If you have good people skills you will be able to get a job or open up your own private practice and do well. There are many areas of the country in dire need of physicians.
