In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

Language changes. When it changes people can get an entirely different interpretation of what was meant. We have a Constitution that was written by people who had recently emigrated from a foreign country. They used words that had a special meaning, AT THAT TIME and to them. What we think today may not be what they were trying to say.

Imagine an American colonist trying to explain, "Cool, man!"

They set up a system of limited government, for they were people who believed that the federal government should not have most of the power.

Unfortunately, we've screwed it up over the past 219 years and given the government way too much power.

the framers were protesting the british autority so they made a point to make the constitution be more in favor of citizen control than govnmt control. but of course that is all out the window in modern times. if you ask me its time for another revolution.

all of the consitution and the bill fo rights are goals. count each issue and that is a goal. freedom of religion, speech, press, right to bear arms. read the const. go to wikipedia and type bring it up.

We've been trying to figure that out for over 200 years; they all ahd there differenet goals so its best if we try not to care.

the goals are very much based on biblical lives and lives devoted to the Lord if you investigate the matter
