Contact your local or state dental association and and see if there are any dentists who provide free or reduced cost care for low-income, disabled or senior patients.

Call your local health department and ask about health centers that provide dental care for free or on a sliding scale.

Go to a dental school, if there is one near you, for reduced costs.

Check http://www.toothwoman.net to see if low-cost or free dental services are available near you.

Check http://bphc.hrsa.gov and choose "Find a Health Center" to see if there is a low-cost clinic near you.

Check http://www.nfdh.org/DDS.html to see if your state has a "Donated Dental Services" program. D.D.S. is designed to locate dentists who will give free care to patients who are financially compromised due to medical problems. Not all states have D.D.S. programs.

Hi there,

No one can tell whats going on until and unless they have a look in your mouth.I would suggest you to go to a dental school nearby and check in emergency. It will cost you a lot less than a private dentist.Keep doing the warm salt water rinses. The bump on your gum could be anything as harmless as just minor trauma by something to something more serious like abscess or infection. No one can tell but a dentist. So,try borrowing some money and get yourself checked.

Salt water may hurt; but is a great way to start. It helps relieve swelling and kills germs. Keep trying that and see how things are in the next day or so. Massaging the gum can help also. I am not a doctor, so always seek medical attention. It never hurts to try and call and ask for their advice. They may tell you something to try. Good luck and feel better!

If you have one of those bumps on your gum, pop it, itll release the infection, and some pain will go away. ...temporarely. But you need a dentist, it is absessed. My son had those bumps all the time and it was always absessed. If you wait, itll only get worse. Talk to the dentist about your financial situation, if he or she is a decent doc, theyll let you pay it out.

its an absess , pour peroxide on a good needle, and pierce the abcess and press out the puss, and rinse your mouth with listerine , keep doing this until the thing stops making more puss, like a week or so, but there is something wrong thats causing this so you will need to see a dentist eventually. i just lost a tooth to it recently.

if you can't afford a dentists-go to the emergency room-if it is an infection they will treat it with medicine-then ask to speak to someone from social servises about finding cheap or even free dental servises in your are--they are there-they just don't advertise....you must be looked at though an abcess can become very serious....
