What God has said to be written in the scriptures was for the people of early times and for us today. And everyone in between and yet to come. His word has never and will never change. It's us that have changed. We have given into temporary personal pleasures and that it has led us astray. God's words fit into all centuries and all walks of life and for all ages.

No.
What often confuses people is the level of law involved. We have constitutional/federal/executive order/judicial interpretation/state law/county/city etc. laws. Pretty much the same thing occurs in the Bible, especially the Torah or first five books. What God commanded i.e. 10 C was then expanded by Moses, interpreted by Levites, re-interpreted when people were settled instead of wandering in the desert, again when a monarchy and so on.
A man says he is just popping down to the grocery store for his favorite ice cream. On the way, he fills the gas tank, stops at the ATM, swings by the video store and comes home. His wife has interpreted what he said one way, his teen-age son who wanted the car for a date in another way, and his pre-teen daughter who has been waiting for the latest video release which he didn't pick up still another way.
To love God wholly and your neighbor as yourself - sums it up and has never changed.
Blessings and a well formulated question you post.

Yes he did. In the Old Testament the people were given the Law. In the New testament we have the Gospel which is based on Faith and Grace and are no longer under the law - The two covenants are totally opposite.

According to Jesus, Peter & Paul, we no longer have to keep kosher under the New Testament. And God gave Noah the right to eat meat (apparently, it was forbidden until then).
God can do what he wants. His universe, his rules.

Yes. When Islam was just beginning, the Muslims were not allowed to fight at all until the point came when things got really bad and other tribes (etc.) were waging war against them. Then they were finally allowed to fight back and defend themselves, their families, and property.
