I believe there is wisdom in everyone. The key is in finding the ancient voice within, like speaking with God. You realize that you are infinitesimally small yet part of the whole of the universe, both nothing and everything all at once. The old soul therefore is someone who has looked into the core of their own being and found the universe reflected there. They radiate wisdom, understanding, patience, and peace from within, regardless of their surroundings. They have been the great teachers of mankind. I do not personally know any of these old souls, but I'd imagine that people such as Mother Teresa or the Dalai Lama would be amongst them.

My wife is an old soul, and we go way back.
In brief, because this could be a long book in itself... When you can be away from the person for, let's says a couple weeks, and get back to together only to have it feel like no time has passed, that's what it's like to have two old souls together. We've been apart for many lifetimes, so what's a couple weeks?
Also, I think it canbe seen in how the person acts in life. The young souls are like a rat with ADD that just hit some crack, where an old soul is mellow and seems to know a great deal more than they should for their age.
That's the short story.

I can only answer this from my own personal perspective. I am an old soul. I've traversed this earth more than once, and I know it. Whether or not you believe me, I've seen parts of my past lives. An old soul is usually someone that has wisdom, even though they may not be that old. I really can't tell you how I know, but when I look at someone's eyes I can tell if they are an old soul or not. I can "feel" these kinds of things.

its an extremely hard thing to quantify, most people who have any sense of it whatsoever have said I am(an old soul)
but really its hard to put into words, because its a very abstract sense of a person that you just have to feel it really.
yeah, thats not very helpful, but theres no way to describe it. maybe could describe it as a... wisdom? a peace of sorts? I'm not sure how to recognize one when your the younger... unless its a massive difference anyway.
I think most of the time soul-age is only particularly noticable in cases where someone is unusually old or young. (in soul that is) otherwise its just kinda... normal. more precise than that is extremely difficult I think.
I think its also most noticable in people who are chronologically young. a 10 year old who when you look in their eyes you get the feeling like you'd imagine you'd feel looking at some 90 year old asian kung fu master or old bearded scholar or something like that... its a bit more of a "shock" than someone whos physically a grown adult and has a mature/wise aire to them.

I think it's usually said of people that they have an old soul if they have a lot more wisdom than you'd expect by their years.
For example, a twelve-year old who says things of such depth, that he wouldn't really have had the ability to learn those things from anywhere.

It will just cometo you as a feeling, usually someone that seems wise before their time.. or unusually spiritual for their age...
as far as knowing any,
i believe that my friend and Shaman, Blackhawk is one. and i know that Shaman Eaglebear is one. they both claim that i am one and they say that i am possibly older than they are, i tend to doubt this because i just do not think that my soul is that old. i know that it has a few hundred years, but not the thousands that they are talking about.

According to Michael, I am a mature soul. The next level is old soul. Those would be people like the Dali Lama, Ralph Nadar, and perhaps...the homeless person you see walking around..What do they all have in common, they can do good but not feel guilty. They live and let live. They are unaffected by others and events.

With an old soul, you'll find that they have already learned many of lifes issues. They are at peace, for the most part. They tend to be more quiet, and when they do speak, their words reflect their wisdom. Yes, I know many, and have all too often been called one myself.
Walk softly child...and listen.

Old souls tend to be good listeners - watch any group of people, and the person who listens with the most attention is often the oldest soul.
Old souls tend to be thoughtful, quiet, peaceful, artistic, and joyful.
They tend to live in harmony with the world around them.
