My list of great snack foods include
1. try a v-8
2. rice cake with a glob of tuna or low fat cottage cheese or both
3. a peach, apple, orange, grapes, nectarine
4. about 6 oz of skim milk with some low or no fat cookies
5. a slice of 8 grain bread with some fruit spread
6. about a cup of raisin bran or shredded wheat with skim milk
to cover
7. eat all of the raw veggies you want (fat free dips available)
8. a glass of iced tea with splenda helps curb my munchies
9. a cup of no fat fruit yogurt
Hope this helps. I have dieted off a lot of weight and have found the trick is to cut out all fast food. eat well rounded diet with all of the food groups. Stay low fat eating chicken and fish instead of red meat. and drink plenty of water. Cut out pop and fad drinks
You have to make weight loss a life style and most of all do it only for yourself. Popcorn only serves to make me more hungry. I eat it when I go to the movies and they usually slam the butter on, but if you can take it without the butter, go for it. Good luck and hope you do well. I know how hard it is to lose weight.

Popcorn without butter is low calorie, cucumber slices or raw baby carrots w/lowfat ranch dressing, the 100 calorie snack packs by Nabisco (I believe it's Nabisco) are pretty good, esp. the Oreo's. I've been thin all my life, but I LOVE to snack, esp. in the evening, and as I've gotten older (i'm 43) I'm afraid that someday it'll catch up with me, so I try to keep some of my snacking lower calorie so I don't develop a weight problem. But I do admit a weakness for M & M's, my fave......Good luck to you!

I always enjoyed a cut up apple - usually both juicy and crunchy - plus very fulfilling.

I've also tried strawberries with sugar free or fat free cool whip. - or just some splenda or equal sprinkled on them.

If you want something really crunchy - try carrots - either cut them up or buy baby carrots - I munch on them in the car a lot.

And popcorn- unsalted, unbuttered. The best used to be Act II natural, now the closest I can find is Act II Light Butter. But air popped it truly the best.

Popcorn would be fine as long as it has no butter or very much salt. Nabisco has packages of snacks such as Oreo crackers and Chips Ahoy crackers which all are 100 calories. You could also try animal crackers. If you want to eat healthier things then try fresh fruit and veggies.

Cookies that has no sugar where u can buy from supermarkets. Per serving must be not more than 3pcs. Celery is good for diabetic patients. As a diabetic sufferer, your dad will have to spread his foods into smaller portions with further 2 serving. Something he eats has to be low in sugar/carbohidrate and moderately. And he wishes to activity, peculiarly going for walks. He has to take care his legs, especially the only to ensure it's wiped dry after shower.

Popcorn is ok as long as its air popped..no butter. Try jello with fruit, handful of pretzels, any fruit (1 piece), handful of grapes, fat free chocolate pudding with fat free cool whip (1 serving), fat free hot chocolate with a scoop of fat-free cool whip (this is fulling), Cup of Soup (they have the low calorie kind), 5 saltine crackers, Snack Well cookies (1 serving is like 5 cookies), they also have those 100 Calorie Packs like Chips O Hoy, Cheetohs, etc (you can find them at any supermarket.

I make a mix of plain peanuts, dried cranberries and semi-sweet chocolate chips. It's delicious. About half a cup cures the snack craving.

Make sure the products you buy have nothing extra added - peanuts should onlu say peanuts on the label (no oil or salt!), same with cranberries, and buy a nice brand of chocolate chips like Ghirardelli, to make sure they don't have extra oils or sugars added to them.
