I have a cat that loves to dringk out of faucets too. I now keep a plastic toothbrush glass in the sink and she's drink from it. No toilets for Her! She doesn't like a bowl on the floor. Since I am always washing my hands,in the bathroom sink. I wash oust her glass and give her a fresh glash of water. My former cat only drank from the faucet;the glass thing didn't work. We all have our quirks, so I think your cat if fine!

My cat used to do the same, he kept drinking from the shower floor. But I still kept a fresh bowl of water next to his food, and while he ate I would nudge the water bowl. After a while he started drinking from the bowl, although he does occasionally drop by the bathroom..bad habit.
No worries!

I wouldn't worry. My cat will only drink running water out of the faucet in one of the bathrooms in my house. Like the first poster said, some cats must prefer running water.

As my two kittens are the same way I try to keep all the toilet lids down and bathroom doors shut (my kitties think the tp is to play with) and I leave the sink in my utility room trickling. Don't try to break them of this "habit" as it doesn't hurt anything and your water bill shouldn't be much more. It keeps them happier and healthier. Besides as you know cats are very independent and you can't force them to change. If you try they will be miserable and they will make sure in turn so are you. My cats did when I tried to break them of this. So we had to find a compromise, they wanted fresh water and I didn't want them on my counter tops ( I am kinda a germ freak and well they walk in their own feces and urine when they get in their litter box) so the utility room, or laundry room sink was the perfect place for us to both have what we wanted!

My cats do the same thing. Sometimes they just prefer fresh running water. I do have a friend that has tried one of those kitty water pumps that constantly flow for your cat, but they can be pretty expensive. We just get use to it, and still leave a small bowl of water out for them to drink from.

never give a cat milk....kitties are lactose intolerant 2 weeks after birth...
my wife and i have six indoor cats...some of them absolutely love running water out of any sink, but if no one is home to turn the faucet on, im sure they will drink from their bowl of daily changed fresh water.
i think that by turning on the faucet everytime your kitty wants it, he or she has trained you. your cat likes this and considers it a "treat" and has you trained to be attentive to this fact.
sounds like kitty kitty is getting way too spoiled to me...

It might taste better right out of the faucet. The water in the bowl is room temp. so maybe it doesn't taste good to him. It's nothing to worry about. Try one of those water bowls that circulates the water.

I'll tell you something...if the cat gets thirsty enough it will drink out of the bowl. It's not going to kill itself just because it has a preference....so just stop turning on the faucet for it.
