Sometimes the intelligent thing to do IS to change your world view as you get new evidence. Other times my ideas are etched in stone. If contrary "evidence" is presented it is up to me to weed out or debunk the false evidence.

I do change my world view. The religious are the ones who do not. Their religion can not change by definition, so changing their world view is a sin. The Bible has not changed for 2000 years. It says slaves are ok, kill gays, kill disobedient teens, kill adulterers, lusting after a woman is a sin, and many more things that today we know aren't true. Their world views should have evolved like any rational person's would, but they haven't because of their ancient book.

I think it takes intelligence to change. Research the evidence, adapt.

Change is a word, but refine is a more accurate word. I do not flip back and forth with newscasts and trends, but as time proves out authenticity of evidence, it may cause me to refine a position, not necessarily change it or oppose it.

Intelligence is not demonstrated necessarily in flexibility, however stability is demonstrated in continuity.

I'm not afraid of evidence that contradicts what I already believe. I am a skeptic though, and it would have to be ACTUAL evidence for me to change my views. =)

All things change, including what I know and believe. I keep saying that I'm a work in progress, and I truly am. I hope I never stop learning.
