From what I see in scripture it looks like Jesus will return and the trumpet will sound and we will meet Him in the air at His Glorious appearing.

The only place I have seen clear explanation of a Pre-trib rapture is in a novel. I didn't see a lot of clear bible support for pre-trib. The only reason that I mention this(because i would never try to out-guess the Fathers plans) is I am concerned that people who count on an early out of this world may fall away if it does not go down that way.

The tribulation will come some time after the rapture of those who have accepted Christ as their savior. If you will study the Books of Daniel and Revelation you will find this to be true. It will not give an exact time, but it will show you that it will be after the rapture.

By the way, the church isn't going to be raptured before the tribulation. Look at these passages.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Notice that the dead saints are going to be resurrected. The notice what this verse says about the saints.

Revelation 13:10 If anyone is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes; if anyone is to be slain with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.

Then look at who is at the first resurrection.

Revelation 20:4-6 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

The saints who were going through the tribulation and who didn't accept the mark of the beast are in the first resurrection. Jesus said:

Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

People who still follow the discredited doctrine of dispensationalism try to create categories of the "Jewish elect" and "tribulation saints" to explain how the church can escape the tribulation even though that's not supported by the Bible. But they can't get over the fact that 1 Thesselonians 4 talks about the dead being raised and Revelation 20 talks about the saints who went through the tribulation being in the first ressurection. Nor can they account for this verse that talks about these events occuring at the "last trump".

1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever." 16 And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying, "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, for you have taken your great power and begun to reign. 18 The nations raged, but your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear your name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth."
