1500 is a good reccomendation. If you eat much less than that, your metabolism will slow down to prevent starvation. A slower metablolism will result in less weight loss.

If you eat that little, your body will go into starvation mode and it will hold on to every little calorie you feed it, so you'll really not lose that much at first. You'll be extremely tired, with no energy, and your body, rather than give up the fat stores it is desperately holding onto, will start feeding off your muscle tissue. You will lose weight at that point, but it will be muscle mass, not fat that is vanishing.
Eat HEALTHY, and get a good mix of aerobic and weights in your exercise routine. And remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so don't worry too much about what the scale says. Worry about how your clothes fit and how you look.

Well, that depends. Are you looking to lose muscle or fat? If you are looking to lose muscle, go ahead and practically starve your body. If you want to lose fat and you are serious about weight loss, then you need to do this properly, consuming at least 1500 calories per day, taking into account that you are a 5ft11 male. You should aim to lose no more than 1-2lb per week, otherwise you will only be losing muscle, instead of fat. Good luck : )

700 wouldn't be healthy for you. I would try eating 5-6 meals a day. Make sure the small meals are high in nutrients and low in fats, sugars, oils. You still have to have calories though. Just change your eating habits and the intake. ;)

When you starve yourself the body freaks out thinks you are in a famine and preserves fat, eating away at your last muscle before it goes in to eat your fat reserves, so you will be a weak fat person instead of a fat person, eat lots of high fiber small meals several times a day and exercise you will do fine losing the weight with out being cranky and weak from starving.

no it would not. Your body would go into starvation mode. suprisingly you need to eat to lose. Find out your basal metabolic rate-just type it into search, you need that many calories a day just to live. If you eat less than that amount, your body will hold onto the fat thinking that it is starving. I would suggest eating about 5 small meals a day.

No, you would not lose weight. Your body would go into starvation mode and hang on to all the fat you already have, and burn muscle for energy.
You would end up lighter on the scale, but flabbier all over.
