if your cat isn't on a flea control then it could have started with a flea bit and ended up a HOT SPOT.. hot spots can become worse becouse the hair.. for a first aid comfort attemp shave the hair from and around the sore. then find you an anti itch cream to put on it.. u can even go as fare as using a razor to get the hair all the way to the skin but be careful...then try to get your cat on a flea control like frountline or advantage.. they are price but its worth it.. don't let someone tell u it don't work becouse it does.... thats just a common excuse so people don't have to spend the mony to use it.. good luck ...proud owner of 3 and a vet tech.. if it doesn't get better then try a vet..

You have a big decision to make. I had a dog for almost 15 years. He started to act tired and mopey then he got to the point where he didn't want to eat. So I called the vet. He checked him out gave him some meds ect and we went home. I thought he would be fine. I called the vet two days later to tell him that he seemed to be getting worse. My vet and I must have talked on the phone for close to an hour. He said it didn't seem like there was any quality of life anymore and the best thing would be to have him put to sleep. So I made the appointment and I held him my arms. And he peace fully passed away. The hardest thing I ever had to do, Next to my mom passing away. But I new I couldn't let him live for my selfish reasons. Life sure can be hard on one's heart. I know because that day my heart broke. It has been 1year and 2 months since that day. I miss him so much. But I have a lot of good memories and lots of pictures of him. I had him cremated. He will go with me, when the time comes for me to go. I pray that you will know when the right time is, I pray that you will feel at peace about it. And that you know you did all you could.

Sounds like she got into a fight with one of her friends and got bit on the tail. Our oldest(of 6) had a similar problem and turns out he was bitten by one of our other cats.

Bad sores that have become infected need to be treated by your vet. The cat needs to be seen by a vet ASAP.

Could be any variety of things my suggestion is take her to a vet (can't give out diagnosis as I am not a DVM) but take her to one and get it taken care of before it spreads to the rest of your cats

Chop the tail off with a dull kitchen knife and take the tail to the vet and ask him or her what is wrong with the tail..........

Did she had a fight with your other cats or any other cats?
I used have cats and one of them had similar problem like yours. (he got in the fight with a cat and got bit on his leg)
sometime wound gets infected. Take her to vet before it gets worse. They should give you antibiotic (pill or cream or both) for your kitty :-)

I don't know what's wrong, but Anise Oil is a natural antiseptic that can't hurt her, she won't like the taste, and will keep it cleaner so it will heal.

take her to the vet!!! she could have an insect bite, an abcess or a hot spot. in any case, to get proper treatment for it, take her to the vet first thing tomorrow!
