It depends on how your phone stores the pictures you take with it. Since you didn't tell us which phone you have this question could have many answers and some much more technically involved than others.

Assuming your phone uses a removable memory card (like mine does) it makes it extremely simple to import pictures and videos.

All you have to do is insert the memory card into the supplied adapter, insert it into a card reader and then simply drag and drop them into a folder on your computer.

A lot of phones now use a trans flash memory card (also called micro sd) which comes with an adapter that is the same size as an SD Ram card that works in any card reader on the market.

Hopefully this is the configuration you have and this will explain the process to you.

To transfer files, this is what you need for the type of phone feature you have:

Infrared device
bluetooth
memory card

If your phone got infrared or bluetooth connection as featured then you need an infrared device that looks like a mouse with 2 blinking indicators but if you want a faster transfer then use bluetooth. You need a sendind/recieving device attached to your PC in order to do the transfer. Both devices send and recieve files from and to your cellphone and PC. Beware that there are viruses for bluetooth especially for Nokia phones so i suggest infrared but it takes time to transfer but it's worth it if at home.

IF you got a SD/MMC, microSD/MMC or Sony's MemoryStick or Duo then you need to have a card reader/writer to transfer files.

These are available via USB. I prefer v2.0 since v1.1 is slow.

Hope this helps =)
