Is the debate keeping you from achieving something? It's enlightening, and in some cases, has inspired me to get off my lazy butt and DO something, even if that something is only making my voice, and my opinion heard.

Althought it would be nice if everyone would just admit that there is no god, so we could just get on with it already =)

The crux lies in trying to answer the question in such a way that it would apply to all people at once.

1. Science, due to the inadequacy of human perception, and of bias on the part of researchers who subliminally may be for or against, is NOT adequate to prove or disprove the existence of God.

2. Faith, though a strong motive force for many people, is not scientifically adequate to prove the existence of God.

3. God could show up at any time and prove himself or even disprove himself as the need suited him.

So, we could make a paradise on earth if we let non-believers not believe, and believers to believe.

But like the Tower of Babel, God woudl screw it up. lol...

Humanity could accomplish all things without the burden of dispute about religion. (note i didn't say "without religion". I feel people must believe in something or nothing matters...Meh,that's just me...)

Mankind has achieved quite a bit while believing in God. If you succeed in outlawing our faith the world will seem flat by comparison.

Possibly nothing.

Humans don't fight simply over religion.

They fight over wealth, power, land, women (or even men). They fight because of arrogance, greed, lust, jealousy, hatred, etc.

The belief that all problems will disappear if the problem of "god or no god" is solved is very flawed.

A lot more than if the bickering continues. Learning about different religions is entertaining if people are open and non-combative.
