That all depends on what you both have as motivation to keep things "just platonic."

In other words......are you both married and devoted to your spouses or significant other? Do you work together? Work place romances can often end in disaster.

Reader's digest talked about that once.

Yes, you can. It requires constant self-control though. I have girls I am friends with that I feel a connection and chemistry with. However, they have boyfriends or have made a commitment to stay single for a while so I act like a brother to them. Also, I try to make sure that I'm never alone with them if I can help it. It lowers the risk.

Another thing that might help you especially if you're the type that wants a life partner is to find something in the friend that you definitely wouldn't want to face every day. After all, unless you find each other mildly repulsive in some way, it'll be very hard to fight the attraction.

yes they could. I have a gay friend who i am very attracted to. We have not had sex and yet we've managed to be best friends for the last 6 years. so it's possible. now if he were attracted to me and was not gay, i still think we would be able to maintain a platonic relationship only because i know entirely too much about him

If there is an attraction on both sides, there is nothing platonic about, it just means that you guys are waiting for that one lustful moment to give in.

Not easily. Especially when it gets "hard". Why would you want platonic, when there is so much more? What is the attraction? Lust? Go for it.

Depends on the situation. I have a really good guy friend and we don't do ANYTHING. He lives with his girl and I live with my fiance/ babby daddy, so that makes it easier. Besides, he's been with my best friend, so morally I can't/ won't go there. If we were both single though, and he never had sex with my best friend, it would have probably went somewhere by now.

of course. Just because youre attracted to them and vice versa doesnt mean you have to copulate like rabbits ^_^

I like a little sexual tension between me and my guy friends, especially if both of us are dating other people. We 'stimulate' each other, and our boy/girlfriend is usually the one to reap the benefits. I'm usually attracted to something in the person, but I still love my boyfriend and am loyal to him, so it works out.

Keep it playful and all will turn out well.

No, I think if there's a strong attraction you can't just be firends. I am attracted to one of my guy friends and I think he is attracted to me. Good luck.
