illegal immigration negatively affects us legal residents by bringing down our education system, healthcare system, economy, crime rate, and hence overall quality of life?

Do they realize it, but purposely ignore it because they are illegal, their relatives and/or friends are, or are they just uninformed?

Why do some believe it is a victimless crime?

For example, my friend got into a car accident with a group of them (DUI) and now her baby has permanent brain/spinal cord damage.

She may receive money from uninsured motorist insurance... but sometimes money isn't enough. Her child will have critical lifelong health problems because of our failure to seal our borders.

The ones I deal with in my neighborhood do not want to assimilate. They hang Mexico flags from their roof and turn the streets into Nogales.

And they're innocent and looking for better lives?

,Explain what you mean by "bringing down our education system" if you look back on the history of the American Education System it's been a mess for over forty years. With the onslaught of "No Child Left Behind" we've successfully proved only states like Texas who cheat their way through, can pass yearly mandated examinations. I believe TX has a large migrant/immigrant population...so I don't see how that statement is true. Please elaborate.

It is certainly a tragedy what happened to your friend, but it could have just as easily been an uninsured legal american who did it, or since as you say, "money isn't enough", an insured legal american who caused such horrific heart ache to your friend. Money is not the issue with what happened to her, or immigration. It may be easy to look for a scape goat in awful things like this, but can you really blame people for searching for something better in this world for themselves and their families.

I am a Candian, and despite the "mosiac v. melting pot discussion I must say we all see ourselves as Candian, but we are still allowed to embrace our cultures and pasts.

Anyway, wasn't America originated by a bunch of alienated Brits who came searching for a better life and took from others to get it? And then much later, built it's population on immigration?

Yes they do. They don't care, just so long as the "poor illegal immigrants" don't have to go back to the retched conditions they were living in before they risked the lives of themselves and children to come over into this country illegally.

Of course they could go with the illegal immigrants back to their originating countries and help them turn things around so it's like the US; but that is work.

The "crime" is our own government spying on its citizens, taxing the poor and middle class to fatten the rich, and making secret or open war on every country or its leader who dares defy the Right-Wing Christian Capitalist Global Hegemony. Give me a break with the "they're coming here to ruin our way of life" stuff; the heartless, conniving, and selfish politicians, businessmen, generals, and hypocritical Bible-thumping preachers have already cornered the market on destroying this country FROM THE INSIDE OUT!

I pray for your friend's baby. An illegal hit my car, had no insurance, and the legal American had to pay for it. Yes we need to secure our borders because we can not support every tom, dick and harry that wants to make a fast american buck to send back home to mama. The money they make doesn't even stay in the country, and it's hurting our money supply.

Politicans who support amnesty only are looking to buy votes. Simple, that is it. There are many illegals who are gang members and criminals. There must be a legal immigration system to have order. We simply cannot have millions coming here, refusing to learn english, refusing to pay taxes like legal citizens, getting public services for free. There is economics involved.

Almost 24 billion dollars sent to Mexico.

400 billion dollars so far for social services.

4 million illegals in public schools at a cost of 14 million dollars so far.

318,470 illegals in jail, at a cost of one and a half billion dollars

627,105 illegals who are fugitives from justice.

Way to go, you liberal morons!!

I am so sorry about your friend....

However, you can't blame all illegals for what happened in one incident.....Of course not all come here with the intention of searching for a better life....Some come here for insidious reasons...But the majority do come here to work and provide for there families....You can't solely blame the illegal immigrant, this govt and businesses also are partially responsible for the problem....

Yes, I think this is getting very ridiculous. Pro-illegals just don't want to get it.
