i think she didn't have the courage to be honest. sounds like she used that as an easy out and it wasn't the real reason for leaving. if it truely was, she wouldn't be with someone else with the same habits...or maybe she's just a glutten for punishment. however, do you want someone who won't be honest and will look for an easy way out?

Maybe she's like a lot of other people who keep making the same mistakes over and over again in romantic partners. She's attracted to a certain type of man, and smoking & drinking is part of the package, even though she doesn't like it. It's subconscious. Like the girl who keeps going for the "bad boy" and then complains that she can't find a man who will treat her right.

I'm confused too. I'm currently dating a guy that is almost like my ex husband. I hate my ex in the worst way. But I don't mind the things my new guy does. It drove me crazy that my ex played video games. I don't care that this guy does. He is almost exactly like my ex. They were friends 15 years ago. I'm just waiting for the day it drives me nuts and I start hating him too.
Maybe just because it's a new guy she over looks things. Don't try to figure out why women do things. Most of the time we don't even know ourselves.

Well, I lowered my standards for a while when I was dating. However, when I decided to settle down, I chose a non-drinker/non-smoker who didn't even know what the term "toke" meant until I explained it to him.

It could be that your personality changed when you were drunk/high. Some people get nasty mean! Maybe THAT was the real prob. And maybe the other guy is mellow and acts fine when he's drinking... Don't mean say bad about you, it's just an honest guess.

It was probably a combination of the two. She probably likes him not necessarily more than she liked you, but realizes she cannot change him. Or maybe she just didn't like how you acted when u were drinking and smoking.

Probably she still in love with you and found someone else that did the same thing you did. Her heart might change from you, but still want that same old feeling.

She was just being nice. The reason she broke up with you was your tiny wang! She was just letting you down easy. Her new guy is HUGE so he could smoke a carton a day and pound a case of beer and she'll still love him!
