If you go to the store and buy a color and put it on your hair then there are three possible outcomes. 1) it turns out great, just what you wanted. 2) It looks like crap, but you don't care 3) You go to a professional to have it fixed and pay them LOTS of money to do it. I see lots of numbers 3's. Maybe you paid attention in art classes and learned how to mix all the primary colors (red, blue, green) on a palette to get different shades of brown, or black. Now think of your hair as a palette. When you put a color on it you're doing the same thing as you did in art class, some of the colors are already on your palette, some of them are already on the palette and you're going to add the rest from the box of color. Problem is, you don't have a clue what is in the box! Sure, you can see the color on the box, but these are computer generated images, they're not real! In the case of blonde you're missing the pigment needed to get a good brown color. In a salon they will add extra pigment to you hair before coloring it. If you go more than a couple of shades darker (or lighter) than your natural shade, you should go to professional, pay them the regular fee for a color instead the of the outrageous price you'll pay for them to fix it later...without guarentees.

Its safe but i would not use a box kit. What i would do is going to Sally's Beauty or a shop like that. ( I work at sally's and its so easy to dye your own hair) When you get there ask someone to help you find a color and the best color product to get is a brand call ion and the creme is better than the liquid because the color stays better in the hair if its creme. when you find your color that you like then you will need to buy developer and the girls that work there will help you pick it out and then all you do is mix it and put it in your hair. good luck

well your hair is naturally blond so it should be pretty easy for you to turn to brunette but just a warning it will be very hard to get your natural hair back it out some damage... if you go to a sally beauty supply store they will be able to help you make the right chose for your hair....

One time I used an ''Herbal Essences'' hair color, went from caramel to brunette, and it came out perfect! Brunette is a very pretty hair color. I also recommend "Clairol'', both of these brands do good with hair coloring.

Be very careful or else you could end up turning your blond hair green when dying it at home.

Because you're depositing color to your hair (meaning you're darkening it) your hair is actually going to feel healthier. Honestly, its not that hard to dye hair, if you're worried, ask a friend to help you. If its products you're worried about, try a beauty store like Sallys.

I wouldn't do it at home unless you're a pro - it's too easy to turn your hair green and you'll end up paying more for it to be fixed.

Be yourself. Do what you want. Dont do what other people want you to be. Hair dye is safe to a point.

i would not use box color if i were you.... it isn't good for your hair and it is very possible that your hair will turn to a nice funky color... blonde is very touchy... you have to know what you are doing... go to your hair stylist.. she will help you.....
