this has got to be one of the most painful fractures someone can have-i'm so sorry you are in pain...

the biggest thing to relieving pain is to remove the pressure off of your tailbone. when sitting (this includes driving), use what is called a donut-any local drugstore should have it. it's a small inflatable ring that you sit on to help reduce pressure on your tailbone.

when at home relaxing-lie on your belly to help get the pressure off of your backside.

for pain take ibuprofen. 200-400mg every 6 hours but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours. you can alternate this with tylenol if it's not helping much. take 200-650mg every 6 hours but no more than 1300mg in 24 hours. you can alternate these every 6 hours as needed.

i hope you feel better soon

Ouch! I feel for you. One thing to maybe help relieve the pain is to sit on one of those donut things. It's like a small inner tube and it takes the pressure off your rear. Try alternating with ice and heat and make sure you get plenty of calcium and vitamin D. Just take a multivitamin to be on the safe side. Your body needs vitamins to heal. Try alternating between Tylenol and Motrin. They are in different pain relief groups so you can take one then 3 or 4 hours later take the other one. Hope this helps.
