Has anyone else noticed a correlation between being religious and looking good? It seems like the religious on average are more attractive than those who aren't religious. I have some theories on this, but I'd like to hear what others think. I'm not going to say if I am religious or not because that gives biased answers.

I think this is an untrue stereotype. Have you seen Ellen Johnson, the president of American Atheists? She's a looker. I'm an atheist, and I've never been called ugly (to my knowledge, LOL)

Your question is do I notice a similarity bedtween being religious and looking good....No. The only other thing I can think of is perhaps religious people in your area shower more often than others. But no.

This is all the same branch of stupidity. The people who blindly believe in the lies of the Bible are the first people to buy the lies of advertisers also. They think that if they get a fake tan, fake blond hair, nails, a car, the coolest cell phone, then that makes them better. Fake is looking good. The throwing up, the died hair, the tattoo on the small of the back. These people are "sheep". They even call themselves "lambs". Stupid people are easily sold on multiple schemes. I went to Ethiopia, with more Christians per capita than any other country, and let me tell you, there were not that many people that you would consider "good looking" as far as shallow American standards. No blondes, no died hair. But they do have faith. Also people that earn a comfortable living can afford to believe in a magic man in the sky watching over them, where as poor people have to worry more about the real man behind them with a knife and a crack pipe. So there for stupidity breeds stupidity.

Maybe it's because most people who are Christians were raised Christian and so they have the same geans running through from generation to generation. But I don't think so. The Amish, Mennonite, and Pentacostal women usually have very nice skin because they don't wear make up. Another thought is that there is a bible verse that says to treat ones body like it is Gods temple and people are just trying to take care of themselves.
Anyhow just a series of random theories.

I think that to most men, the good Christian woman has that hard to attain status, and that makes her "look" more attractive and vise versa.

i have seen many people that are very attractive, and many that are mirror breakers in pagan circles as well as in christian churches.

i think that it is a perception thing, and a style of dress.

Christian women generaly do not show as much skin as others, this leaves more to the imigination, and creates a more attractive female figure for most men.

i could be wrong of course,

I think because being religious and understanding that we should treat out bodies as a temple, we care for ourselves because this is what God wants us to do. i am Christian and I am not sure if I fit into the pretty category, but I can assure you.. somedays I look like crap!

Beauty is on the inside when you are a Christian. It can be seen and recognized in your manorism, speech, temperment, and the way you carry yourself, and you dont have to be gorgious on the outside. There are so many good looking people in this world that as soon as they open their mouth and guile and filth pours out, their phsyical beauty disapears instantly. Real beauty comes from the heart.

If you are following the bible it says treat your body as a temple. Also, people who are happy and satisfied with life I personally think take better care of themselves. Look at people who are on drugs or depressed, they just don't look healthy or take care of themselves as well as a whole I feel.
Also, I feel that I want to represent my best when I step out of my home, to my husband, my children etc.
That is my take.

Hey man. I know some dang ugly Christians. Not even joking you. Maybe its just that more attractive people are more sure of themselves, so they speak up more, so they're noticed more. I mean, I know some really pretty evil people... My stepmom...

Say what??? A statistical analysis of a sufficiently large enough population would probably anihilate this theory.
