A few years at most. The signs of the last days and the second presence ("coming" is an error in translation) of Christ began in 1914 with the advent of WWI. Christ said that the generation living would not pass away before all the signs were fulfilled. The generation living at the time is the first generation in 2000 years to live longer, as a whole, than 46 years. They are now passing 100 years of age and dying off fast.

Yes I believe that the return of Christ is near. To say how near would be as much a guess as anyones. However the scriptures dont give us a date... but a standard... they tell us when the days are as of the days of Noah.... as well as many prophecies from Revelation and Daniel that are becomming more and more apparent today. I personally believe it will be within the next generation or so. But to say that I KNOW it will be would be pesumptous. The word tells us that only the Father knows the day and the hour. When isnt near as important as knowing your ready right now.

The biblical end is not near. The real end, which is spelled out in the documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," could well be near if we do not begin to enact some serious environmental change.

It is very sad to think that if we do become extinct as a species, taking many, many species with us, it will be solely of our own making.

Rapture... the end of the world...

According to this doctrine, when Christ returns, all of the elect who have died will be raised and transformed into a glorious state, along with the living elect, and then be caught up to be with Christ. The key text referring to the rapture is 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, which states, "For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with the Lord."

Virtually all Christians hold that the Second Coming will be preceded by a time of great trouble and persecution of God’s people (2 Thess. 2:1–4). This period is often called the tribulation. Until the nineteenth century, all Christians agreed that the rapture—though it was not called that at the time—would occur immediately before the Second Coming, at the close of the period of persecution. This position is today called the "post-tribulational" view because it says the rapture will come after the tribulation.

MY opinion:

People have been proclaiming that they are living through the "end times" for waaaaay too long. There's always some unhygienic street-corner evangelist crackpot sputtering about how the world is going to end and that all the heathens better get the Lord harassed into their unsaved souls.

It STILL hasn't happened. The sky isn't falling. The oceans aren't boiling. Pigs are most definitely NOT sprouting wings and making like the birdies. They've been barking about it for years and years and years and they'll STILL be barking for years to come.

It's a scare tactic, a convenient freak- the- everliving- crap- out- of- folks magic wand that can be waved about in dramatic fashion any time the religious collective feels the soul harvest is running dry.

Trust me... go about your life. Ok, I'm sure you will anyhow considering there's really no alternative option (besides suicide, and I've heard “God” frowns upon that), but just make sure to keep in mind: STAY CALM. DON'T PANIC. REMEMBER YOUR TOWEL.

No one knows how near or how far, we just know that we have to be prepared. Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.

Commonsense says terrorists will eventually set off a series of nuclear bombs as soon as they can get that control. That day is getting closer. Bible prophesy also predicts this.

i am an optimist so i think it will take some time -- may be many generations later or when the sun dies (once our sun dies, we all have to die without a doubt). God knows best -- man proposes, God disposes.

Yeah, I think it's close. I ain't no date setter, so if you're lookin for that, sorry. I only look around and wonder how much farther we can fall. No, not how much farther, but how much longer
God can bear to watch it.

End of what?

Earth, humans, the universe?

Earth: No.
Humans: Not likely, even if we have a nuclear war.
Universe: Never?
