Kim, poetry is the rightful brother of these song lyrics you praise so highly. If you only like lyrics put to music, than you don't really appreciate lyrics at all. Print out 10 random song lyrics and 10 random poems and see how different they really are. I guarantee not enough for you to love one and hate the other. Just because poetry isn't set to a catchy back beat, the simple-minded dismiss it again and again as too artsy. Oh and in answer to your question, a solid mastery and manipulation of the English language can make a woman weak at the knees and crazy for a man that she has no business being crazy for (whether she likes it or not).

That really depend on the girl. But all women like mean to be emotional and writing poetry and songs shows that they are emotional and sensitive. Personally I really like men who write -my boyfriend writes all the time- because it lets me know that there is something more than that tough exterior; that when you look deeper there is someone who sees the world with a fresh perspective and isn't afraid to voice his opinion.

well some girls do some dont , some will like the poetry better than the song some will like the song better than the poetry

I don't think you can group it all into girls, some girls do and some girls don't. It really depends on the girl, I do like men who can write poems and songs, to me it shows that they are not shallow and are in touch with their emotions, my sister though thinks that men who write poems or songs are either high or unable to be what she thinks are real men, (football players, jocks)
