Depends if you mean those lame carrots from the grocery store or some fresh organic ones from the farm. Huge difference in calories and vitamins.
If you are counting calories, you're not eating right.
Have some eggs and bacon for breakfast so you don't snack on junk all day long, trying to fill a void that shouldn't be there.

Don't know for sure about carrots, but I know it's true of lettuce. It takes more calories to chew the lettuce than you consume. I suspect that it's also true of carrots. You have to chew them quite a bit. Even if it's not true, your mom is right about the fiber. They're really good for you in so many ways.

sry, theres not such thing as negative calories and to be exact, what your mom probably meant was that carrots provides zero calories and its contents being high in fibre requires you to digest it, thus causing you to lose energy without any gains since carrots doesnt provide calories and hence carrots are known to you as negative calories as there is a net loss in energy when you eat carrots. therefore the statement made is illogically true.

Nooo. It has a high glycemic index - aka sugar, which has calories. Still low calorie (40 cal a carrot) and very healthy. maybe it'll even keep you away from the carrot cake.

I've heard about the postive and negative calorie thing, and it just seems silly to the trainers that I know. All veggies and fruits are good for you, any of them can be eaten and digested just fine.

Celery and plain lettuce burn more calories eating them and digesting them then you do consuming them. But carrots I hear are great for helping your eyes stay healthy.
