Nowadays it goes both ways. When you invite someone out formally; I wouls say that she offers to pay. The boy should then say; "No, I'll pay for myself or I'll pay for us." If the boy doesn't work there is nothing wrong with them going dutch. I also think there is nothing wrong with them always going dutch, stays friendlier and she's not completely obligated to him. It also keeps the boy from being financially drained.

Well since shes asking him she should be the one to buy the ticket but they should each pay for their own outfits. If they decide to rent a limo maybe split that and he should buy the corsage. If they go out to dinner I don't see why he shouldn't pay for atleast half of it' they should discuss how everything is going to be paid for and decide before the date and she should definately have extra money just incase something comes up. I hope this answers your question or atleast gives you some ideas.

This is the time that the boy needs to proves he's ready for man hood.He should pay even if it is girl ask boy if your daughter pays the kid will feel that every girl he becomes involed with should pay. That would make him a leech, and if thats his way then your daughter needs to start looking for someone else for her Home Comming Dance. Bettter to be with a young man then to be with a leech for the rest of your life.

I think that this is a choice between the two of them. If he does not feel he should pay then I don't think he should because he received the invitation, but a true gentleman would naturally offer his assistance.
