I'm asking a help for the instruction of Excel.
The question is as below.
I've created a Excel file which contains 35 working sheets. I like to have the sum of the cell "D5" on each working sheet, 35 of them. What is the most easy way to do this task?
I know one way as "SUM(Sheet1!D5+sheet2!D5+Sheet3!D5+........+Sheet35!D5)".
Does anybody have any simple way to do the same thing.

What about =SUM(Sheet1:Sheet35!D5)

None of the answers tell you a simple way to create this formula, so here it is:

I will assume you want the total on the first sheet.

Select the first sheet in your workbook. Place your cursor on the cell you want the total in, any cell, just not D5.
Click the Sum tool in the toolbar. It looks like a Greek capital E. It is on the standard toolbar. (You could type =sum(, if you want to)

Click on cell D5.

for 35 sheets, you will have to use the VCR looking controls to show the last sheet's tab. It looks like a Play button with a vertical line to the right of it. Click that and then

hold down the shift key as you click the last sheet's tab. Press enter and your formula is entered for you.

Have fun!

The most easy way: "=SUM(Sheet1:Sheet35!D5)" in your example.

To know more about this type of functions, read about (3-D reference), and also about (Functions that can be used in a 3-D reference), you can find this in the Excel help.

this is an easy, but probaby not the best way to do it.
type in the beginning part, eg =sum(sheet1 then copy and paste the following part, the !D5+sheet then type in the 2, and repeat. so your pasting everything but the sheet tab number or name however it is set up.

i hope this works
