In order to answer this question accurately, your height, weight, activity level, diet, genes, body composition, and typical day need to be taken into account. I believe "weight" is a very stressful, broad, confusing term to deal with, for anybody, especially if you're 13. Nothing about losing weight is easy, unfortunately.
My standpoint is that generally, at this age, you just need to keep your activity level up (typically 30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week at least) and keep your junk food level down. You don't need to go out for runs or make it a point to go to the gym or anything... just go outside and play!
As annoying and repetitive as it may be to hear, your gym teachers know what they're talking about concerning your diet. I know it's scary that now it's actually starting to matter what you put in your body. I'm 16 so although I don't even begin to know everything about this subject, I do feel compassion for you. It's going to become a bigger deal as you grow up so just try to instill good habits early. I'm all for enjoying sweet, salty, and savory stuff, but the more you avoid them, the easier they are to avoid.
I don't believe in not eating to lose weight, either. My cross country coach actually told me to starve myself earlier this week, and it's the most rediculous request I've ever heard. But anyway, this isn't about me. Please do not for any reason resort to starving yourself or binging and purging to lose weight.
Also, any "weight loss" plan takes at least 6 weeks to see a significant change. One to two pounds is a healthy amount to lose each week. Keep in mind also- muscle weighs much more than fat. Don't focus so much on the deadline; instead try to just keep it off and feel good about yourself! Good luck!

I'm glad you understand that not eating is not a healthy way to lose weight. A healthy weight loss is a slow weight loss (about 1 to 2 pounds per week) and it would not be healthy for you to lose ten pounds in a month. If you have time to watch t.v....you have time to get active. Weight loss is not fast or easy. Use the food guide pyramid at mypyramid.gov to help find a calorie level for you to aim towards...and see what happens. Good luck! :)

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.
You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.
It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out Dr. Charles Livingston's video here: http://www.sexyjese.com - it will blow your mind.

No cokes, no sugar, no bread or flour products, no carbohydrates at all including beer. Eat lots of fiber, whole grain everything, and drink lots of water.
Also, fit in some exercise---even if it is walking. Muscle burns fat even when you are asleep. Muscle does create more weight than fat, but it will put u in great shape.
Green tea capsules are good for skipping or slowing down on meals.
My doctor said if I have a hamburger, remove the top bun! I hardly eat at all, but some drugs prescribed by a doctor made me gain extra weight.

You don't say how much you weigh and give your height or tell whether you recently gained the pounds. First and foremost concentrate on your health. Be active but remember, muscle is heavy too, so don't think taking care of yourself means losing a great deal of weight. Eat more fruits and vegetables instead of sweets and fatty meats.
