it sounds like she has either exema or ringworm... scalp fungus
if you can afford it, go to the dermatologist and get a professional opinion... otherwise, get a shampoo called Nizorol/Nizoral (can't remember how to spell it); it helps considerably.

Since it is something as a baby 1. scare tissue from the chickenpox's, 2. if the doctor used a vacuum or clamps at childbirth and the scalp was damaged. 3rd is alopecia which is trauma caused directly to the scalp, and the nerves are damaged, it can also be caused from stress or a traumatic situation. but when it comes right down to it it is lack a blood flow that is influenced by the nervous system. the book also say it can also be caused by anemia, scarlet fever, typhoid fever, or syphilis.

Have you had it checked for ring worm? It would be a round red spot on her head, no hair will grow on it. My son had it when he was little and it took almost a year for him to grow his hair back. If you have animals check them, they are the main cause , you let them in the yard or what ever, raccoons are the main source as well as other animals, but they spread it all over your yard, try having that looked into and let me know if that helps. Good Luck
