i am doing a science project on the insect cicada. does anyone have any info i can use in my project or websites?

All I know is that they are large, ugly, and noisy. But the sound they make is very unique, you always know its a cicada.

well they come out to reproduce only and that is it and then they die.....they come out of the ground after being there for approximately 7 yrs..(not totally sure about that maybe 85% sure) Some people eat them as a delicacy ....they supposedly are very sweet in taste....and they are harmless to our crops...They have one purpose in life and that is to mate.
