My son was involved in an accident and he received a ticket 22107vc=unsafe turn. He was in a private community where we live and saw some dust. When he slowed down he lost control of his vehicle and rolled it. They gave him a ticket for unsafe turn. So does this apply on private property? The way his accident happened I don't think he should have gotten the ticket anyways.

Ok I'm getting negative comments. Let me tell the rest of the story. The dust that my son saw was from his friend on his dirt bike trying to pass him. When my son saw his friend and the dust he jerked the wheel, tried to correct himself and over corrected which caused his to lose control hit a curb and roll the vehicle. His friend hit gravel lost control and flew off his dirt bike. He wasn't wearing a shirt or helmet. He shattered his left collar bone, tore a ligament on his right shoulder and some bruised ribs. My son not even a scratch on him.

He was driving recklessly. There is NO reason why a driver, seeing some "dust", should suddenly have his vehicle roll over. He was probably driving at a high rate of speed and in a very dangerous manner, and that's what caused the vehicle to roll over. Don't expect anyone to believe it was not his carelessness and negligence that caused the accident.

Let's hope the insurance shoots sky-high. Maybe it will teach him a thing or two, like to stop being a stupid show-off idiot behind the wheel.

Where did you get the idea that a police officer can't cite you on private property? They do it everyday of the week in malls, shopping centers, gas stations and anywhere else they apprehend you!
From the story you tell anyone with half a brain is going to conclude these two guys were horsing around, showing off, and the consequence was an accident in which someone got hurt!
You should not coddle him but act as a responsible parent and let him deal with the consequences! It's called live and learn!
It's also another reason all these kids today are so abnoxious! He definitely needs a notch out of his belt before the next one gets more serious and someone gets killed or permanently mamed!
My vote's for the police officer!

He deserved more than a ticket. He should have been arrested!

P.S.

This whole story sounds fishy, even with your added details. Your son is, in my opinion, not being totally truthful about what REALLY happened. SORRY. I have 6 kids and I have heard some pretty good whoppers, some better than THIS one.

Don't know where you are.
Private communities have public roads. The same rules apply.
