There is only one answer that I can relate to.

So far so good, all of these are acceptable responses, much to my chagrin. One, howevever is correct, my wife gave it away. I am astounded at the amount of killers in the world given the response to most questions on the subject. Death is a reality, I am glad that some of you would not hesitate to save the life of another. Heaven is full of heros, Hell is full of cowards and opportunists.

I've worked as a security officer for twenty years and in all that time, I've had to use my weapon just once. Believe me,it's not like in the movies with patriotic music playing in the background.
The only reason I'm still here is because when the guy pulled a .45 in my face,he was in such a hurry,he forgot to pull back the slide. So,there wasn't a round in the chamber and it wouldn't fire when he pulled the trigger. I shot him and his buddy at point blank range. They didn't die though. They were wearing vests.
But what I felt was fear, anger and a need for revenge all rolled into one. I cuffed both those jerks and held them for the police. You know something, after all I went thru, not one person asked if I was OK...........

you need to figure it out before youre in the situation. If you freeze up and can't shoot the other person, they will probably use your weapon (or another one) against you to save their own life.

Don't pull out a weapon unless you intend to use it -immediately-.

If I was in war I wouldnt feel bad at all. In fact, I would have a tremendous respect for whomever I was killing. My heart would hurt for the other person's family. Theyre someone's child, sibling, and probably parent. All life is deserving of respect, but no self respecting animal will give up an opportunity to save itself, and that includes humans. So I would feel bad but I wouldnt lose any sleep over it.

Life goes on... for the rest of us.

First of all, I'd only shoot someone in the defense of my wife and my child.

I'd probably feel like everything's in slow motion before the actual shooting. Then, I'd puke my guts out after the shooting and go numb but with a feeling of relief. Guilt dosen't even enter in the equation.

It really depends on the situation. I wouldn't shoot a person in cold blood... But if my life or the life of someone that I love was at risk and in order to survive, I had to shoot someone... I would.

I would be mad and upset but I would also feel completely justified and relieved that I, and/or the person that I love, was still alive because of it.

Well, it depends. If somebody hurts my child in an awful way, like in sexual abusse, I would kill that person without given it a second thought, and I'm sure I would never regret it.

It all depends on the circumstances. If the person was trying to kill me, and I had a gun to defend myself, I would feel anger, fright and completely justified.
