And gets with someone his own age that breaks his heart. Now he says we can be friends what do i do?

You dont fall for it for one. If he broke up with you once because of the age difference he will do it again. He says he wants to be just friends, sometimes that is hard to do when the two people have had a relationship.

When you are young (teens and early 20's, even) the age difference is a big deal to some people. You just have to face it.
Think of it this way...At least it wasn't necessarily about you, right?
