hwo can I ask this guy out, he is liek my best guy friend and when he had a girlfriend me and his other guyfriend asked him who he would date if he didnt have a girlfriend , he said me and this other girl. now we are both single what do I do

Don't ask him out. He might have liked you then, but not now. What you can do is hang out with him a little more than you usually do and alone? Then something will most likely happen. But proceed with caution, you don't want him to think that he has to back up from hanging with you because you like him in a way, he doesn't see you. Why don't you just ask his best friend and I'm pretty sure he'll mention your question to him, and sooner or later, you two will be hooking up.

But why you loose your friend ?? is like he was not at all. Talk with the guy to find out - and move on with your life.
You can't be responsible for somebody actions.
