What does he mean by "I don't know"?

There's this guy who's friends (not REALLY close friends, though) with me, and he has been going to lots of school dances with me. He's cute and nice, definitely not a player, and pretty shy, and he knows that I like him.

So, today, I decided to be weird and ask him if he liked me back, and his answer was, "I don't know, I have to think about it." But his actions were TOTALLY signaling that he did like me.

I thought that was his nice way of saying that he wasn't interested without hurting my feelings, but when other people ask him the same question, he simply says, "I don't know. I guess a little."

That's the most I can get out of him. So, what on EARTH is going on? Yesterday at the dance, he acts like he's REALLY interested, slow-dancing with me and such. But now, with all the untrue rumors that we're going out, it's so AWKWARD!

And our friends aren't helping much, either.

SO FAR HE HAS NOT MAKE MIND FOR YOU BUT ALSO HE DOES NOT WANT TO LOSE YOU. SO HE IS NOT DENYING YOU BUT ALSO NOT MAKING ANY COMMITMENT.

He loves you, but he doesn't want to commit himself or marry you. May be he is having some obligations or maybe his parents are against love marriages.

Ask him, if he has any such problems, then you can both sit together try to get a solution.

ummm i think u should behave as if nothing happened... if he wants he'll come back to you (if u say tht he does like u a bit then he will definitely come back) or else huney u have to WAIT.. i knw waiting for such stuff is killing but u have no other option.. DONT ge emotional how i got.... i know how difficult it is forgetting the person u like (u can go through my own questions----) i think let him approach u next... dont get tooo nudgy let him think of his own answer... i mean dont force an answer out of him... LET HIM THINK and realize on his own how much he likes you.... sweety everything happens for its own good... imagine u have soo many other people waiting for out out there.... if not him there are many fishes in the sea ;) :P

if god closes one door he always opens another one for you... if that guy does not approach soon or keeps making excuses like "I I DONT KNOW" "ILL THINK ABOUT IT" then he definitely is NOT worth it... its quite sad but yes u have to move on....

I think he is probably afraid of answering for fear of rejection. Just come right out and tell him that you are very interested in him. Tell him you want to know how he feels about it so that you aren't getting your hopes up if the feeling is not mutual.

Then tell everyone else to stay outta your business. If they are telling you one thing, who's to say they aren't telling him something totally opposite???

He does indeed like you. He might just be afraid of your reaction if he says "Yes". However it is very clear to me that he likes you. You said that he was shy, so that is probably part of it.

I also think that he is afraid that you'll reject him if he said: "Yes". So him saying what he said means: "Yes, I like you, however I'm to weak & embarised to admitt it".

That's what that means. So don't fret, he tell you when he's ready. If he doesn't in about a year, then I'd say that it's safe to move on.

Sounds like you caught him off guard. Well, ask him again. If you like him back, then make it known.

Most likely he didn't want to come out and say it, possibly because you came off as trying to expose him, rather than, you really wanted to know.

I am totally going out on a limb but it sounds like he likes someone else and is not sure they feel about him- so he doesn't know what to say to you. Maybe your his second choice.

Give the boy a chance to breathe!! My goodness.....the way you girls pressure a boy into liking you......give the boys a chance to come to you.....stop chasing them!! Trust me, its sweeter when they come to you on their own- it's more meaningful than when you tell them you like them and then pressure them for an answer!!
